Another Productive Weekend

Another good and productive weekend here in Georgia.  Happy to say, we missed the BIG storms that had some through the south, clobbering Mississippi and Alabama before getting here.  The track moved them just north of us and while a lot of damage took place, we had none.  The same storm pushed over to NC and gave David and the rest of the Fayetteville area a good hammering last night evidently.

Somewhat productive was that I sold the ST1300 and while I have no regrets, I'm really going to miss that motorcycle.  I had many great adventures and trips on that bike and the number of times that I and my very favorite riding buddy, Steve, messed around together is more than I can remember.  It was Steve that got me to camping off a motorcycle and it was the ST1300 that I packed my gear on.  Favorite trip?  Hard to call it but the ride down the Blue Ridge Parkway was very, very nice.  So... a couple of parting shots to me and the ST:
Notice the incredibly good form.  Looking through to the next corner, head turned and level...

... ease on the throttle to come out of this turn and set up for the next.  Damn it was fun !!

Saturday it was outside clearing the space for a 4th flower bed.  I decided that we needed it to add a bit of balance to what had done the previous weekend.  Also got the idea to transplant some trees from where there are many, like in the woods surrounding the house, to where needed, like the barren spot off the back left of the yard.  So, I moved two rather obvious ones and then took a maple from the edge of the woods, moving them all into the widest part of the barren area.  Got that done and then turned to putting in the 4th flower bed.  Sunday was a day for just adding some finishing touches outside while at the same time getting to some other projects that just needed to get done.  I'm happy to say, they were!  The weather was perfect for a motorcycle ride -- I do still have the VTX1300 -- but there will be other perfect days... after the work is done :)

So now I have the 4 beds planted with wildflower seed and the 3 trees moved into the open area.

Another shot looking from the porch.

And lest we forget, this is what the area looked like last weekend before we started.  We're rather happy with ourselves and it's nice to be able to say we did it.  Also nice to be done doing it :)
