The weather forecast for the weekend just past was for rain both Saturday and Sunday. Normally, I'd not be too thrilled with that but since every day is a weekend day now and I can do my outside work whenever I feel like it, I was thankful for the rain that we need very much. No wind, no storm, just nice rain. We got a bit over 2 1/2 inches and we could do with another bout of the same. With the coming rain I figured it was time -- over due time -- to get some maintenance done on the motorcycle. I moved the golf cart down to the boat door area below, brought up the motorcycle lift, and I was good to go. It's been a while since I took the bike apart, so to speak, but I got a new battery in, checked/adjusted the valves, changed the plugs and tended to a bunch of other stuff that just hadn't been done in a while. It was good to be doing it although there is NOTHING easy when working on a motorcycle, not even checking the air in the tires. The oil only had 1,000 miles on it so that can wait a while. Everything else was tended to. Oiled everything that moved, polished ALL the chrome, and mounted a new trunk bag. Honestly, the battery and trunk bag have been waiting for me to get to them for over a year... what a slug. I didn't have any nuts, bolts, screws or wires left over at the end so I'm thinking all is back as it should be and ready to go. Not the most exciting post for news, I know, but I had a good time of it :)
I got everything off that I needed to get off before putting it on the lift.
Pretty well stripped down and ready for whatever.
Timing cover off and ready to go to work. I guess I should have taken a picture when it was all back together again. Trust me... all is well.
